Anil Sainani

Anil Sainani is a leading family business governance expert who has worked with more than 300 business families across South Asia, developing unique and customised governance models for continuity, alignment and long-term sustainability. As Founder & Managing Partner of BAF Consultants, he is recognised as a pioneer in designing frameworks that enable inter and intra-generational collaboration in both small and large family enterprises.

For over two decades, Anil has advised families on professionalisation and growth of their businesses, creation and implementation of family constitutions, ownership succession and leadership transition, mentoring of next-generation leaders, coaching of family and C-suite executives, and the establishment of robust and effective boards. His work also spans cultural transformation journeys helping families articulate values, build structures and institutionalise accountability, often serving as an ombudsman.

Drawing from extensive engagements with business groups such as Godrej, GMR, Dalmia Bharat, DCM Shriram, Kirloskars and SRF, Anil has distilled his experience into an accelerated constitution-creation methodology that reduces the typical 2-3 year governance development cycle to just 4-6 months. This innovative approach has been featured in documentary films by the Kellogg School of Management, USA, and the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

A sought-after speaker and educator, Anil regularly conducts workshops and learning sessions for organisations including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Young Indians, Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), and FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO).
