TD Chandrasekhar

An alumnus of IIT Delhi and XLRI Jamshedpur, TD has more than 32 years of general management corporate experience across India, the US and Southeast Asia. His last corporate role was as Head of Ameriprise India, which he set up for the parent organisation, American Express, successfully scaling and leading it. Prior to Ameriprise India, TD handled a large-in-consulting team within Ameriprise (erstwhile American Express Financial Advisors) in Minneapolis, where he won the American Express CFO’s Award for leading a high-performing team composed of ex-consultants from leading global consulting firms.

He is an innovation consultant, coach and facilitator for leading organisations, and has coached over 100 executives including business leaders from India’s most successful start-ups, promoter-led businesses and global corporations. He has delivered talks at various forums across organisations such as Times Group, Asian Paints, Airtel, American Express, IFC (World Bank) and Harvard Business Publishing.

For many years, TD has been closely associated with family businesses, contributing significantly to areas such as conflict resolution, alignment on family and business matters, creativity and innovation at the promoter level, and strengthening listening and communication skills through Listening Boot Camps, Nonviolent Communication and collaborative communication methodologies.

Mentoring, coaching and guiding young entrepreneurs and leaders is something TD is deeply passionate about, and at any given time, he is actively engaged with numerous promising individuals. He believes that regardless of how glorious an organisation’s past may be, it must continuously create new and relevant stories for itself. TD teaches at various educational institutions, including Harvard, IIT Delhi (where he offers a course on creativity for engineers), IIM Lucknow, MDI and Vedica Scholars.

He is also the co-author of Good Values, Great Business, a book that explores deeper values required for creativity, innovation and organisational success. TD currently resides in Gurugram with his wife and twin daughters.
